All-Star Media Team

OUR TEAM

The Support Young Artists All-Star Media Team provides real-world, project-based learning experiences designed for motivated young creatives who want to develop professional skills while serving the local arts community.

Through a partnership between The Focus Group Movement, LLC and Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, the media team will be responsible for visually documenting the stories, events, artists, and educational programs that make our creative community thrive. Students will gain experience working on authentic creative projects alongside Christopher Breedlove Brown, an award-winning, visual communications educator with over 27 years of professional experience.

The Support Young Artists All-Star Media Team is an independent volunteer program operated by The Focus Group Movement, LLC. It is not a school-sponsored activity and is not administered or operated by the DeKalb County School District, any school in the DCSD Community, or any school PTSA.

Our mission is to equip, educate, and inspire the next generation of creatives through service-based, hands-on learning opportunities.

OUR EXPERIENCE

Media Team members will have opportunities to:

• Build a professional creative portfolio using real client work

• Learn professional photography, videography, visual storytelling, and content creation workflows

• Receive professional software training from Adobe software expert and graphic design curriculum developer

• Shadow professionals on unique jobs and opportunities

OUR PARTNERSHIP

The purpose of this collaboration is to serve the preservation efforts at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center by building an image repository that can be used for: Marketing, Storytelling, Community outreach, Historical documentation, Fundraising, and Promotional materials while training and mentoring young creatives. Participation in the All-Star Media Team is volunteer-based, educational, service-oriented, and unpaid. Students must have their own gear or access to a reliable rental arrangement.

PARENT/GUARDIAN CONSENT

By completing this form, I understand that:

• My child is volunteering as part of an educational media team.

• Activities may include photography, videography, editing, storytelling, content creation, and creative production.

• My child may attend approved events at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center and other supervised project locations.

• My child will work under the supervision of approved adults designated by The Focus Group Movement and/or the host organization.

• My child's transportation to and from media team events is solely my responsibility.

• My child is expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully.

• Participation is voluntary, unpaid, and may be discontinued by either party at any time.

MEDIA/INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

I grant permission for:

• Callanwolde Fine Arts Center

• The Focus Group Movement, LLC

• Support Young Artists

to use submitted photographs, videos, recordings, and creative works for educational, promotional, fundraising, marketing, print, digital, website, social media, and archival purposes without additional compensation. I understand that this permission is perpetual, royalty-free, and non-exclusive. My student may also use work they personally created in their professional portfolio, college applications, scholarships, and resumes.

LIABILITY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless:

• Callanwolde Fine Arts Center

• The Focus Group Movement, LLC

• Support Young Artists

• Their employees, volunteers, and representatives

from claims arising from ordinary participation in this volunteer program, except where prohibited by law or caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
